This talk by Elena Lake will be a part of the Health Week Unconference: Living Better, Living Longer (Friday, 1-5pm) held in the Loft.

Did you know there's a certain, dreamlike, deep-parasympathetic nervous system state from within which body tissues will spontaneously self-organize?

Elena did not, until she left her math career and began studying esoteric massage and bodywork. She quickly learned that the human sense of touch was more trainable than she'd imagined, and it contained information about organs, emotion, and metabolism, in addition to resolution of injuries and myofascial pain. Now she's developing her own modality.

In this session Elena will share stories from her practice (resolution of neck pain via addressing the liver, etc), demo fascia assessments on volunteers from the audience, and teach you to feel sensory cues from your own fascia.
