Scarlett arrived in Tibet as an anthropological researcher and then participated in the construction of a forest school in the Tibetan region. After that, she worked with Mongolian herders in Inner Mongolia to create a nature school on the steppe, which she used for different experiments and explorations in community development.
After five years of working with indigenous people and different foundations, she became very interested in the contradictions and conflicts that arise when two different values and ways of thinking interact, and couldn't help but think about what kind of difference lies behind the values dominated by technological thinking and the values dominated by nature, and whether true cooperation is really possible.
